CHATEAU SEGUR DE CABANAC
SAINT ESTEPHE, FRANCE
Chateau Segur de Cabanac is located in the Bordeaux region, known for Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blends. The vineyard in the eastern part of Saint Estephe is less than 20 acres and has a gravelly terroir. The Gironde river has a tempering effect on the microclimate, reducing temperature extremes and allowing gentle breezes — conditions which promote excellent growth.
St Estèphe
This marriage of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot is aged in new and old oak barrels for 20 months. 2014 saw a very wet August before hot, sunny September which completely changed the vintage profile. This is a classic style, deeply-colored, and well-constituted Saint-Estephe. It displays a floral nose of violets; a vivacious palate with a long, elegant finish; and a balanced tannic structure.
