CHATEAU MOULIN DE LA ROSE
SAINT-JULIEN, FRANCE
With over 10 acres located in the classified growth area of Saint-Julien, Chateau Moulin de la Rose is nicknamed the “Lilliputian of Saint-Julien”. The estate has some of the best gravelly soil in the area, producing a generous, tannic wine that maintains all the smoothness and finesse of the great Saint-Julien wines.
Saint Julien
Hand-harvested Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from 30 year old vines come together in a 65/35 blend. The wine is aged for 20 months in 30% new oak barrels. In the last four weeks of the growing season, the grapes were drenched in a wet August and then brought to perfect ripeness with a hot September. This Saint-Julien has a fruity nose and a soft, supple mouthfeel with velvety tannins. It is well-balanced and a great representation of the region.
