Weingut Zull

Schrattenthal, Austria

Zull Winery is located in Schrattenthal, Austria's smallest wine-growing town. Zull has over 76,000 vines that produce approximately 70% red wines and 30% white. The dry, hot summer days encourage the vines to set deep roots, while the cold nights give the grapes their distinctive aroma. Each of the Zull vineyards has its own characteristics. The Riesling is cultivated on mineral rock with warming granite below that gives the Riesling its delicate structure. Schrattenthal is also underlaid with well-irrigated sandy soil, which is ideal for red wines. The clay soil of the vineyards in Retz are tailor-made for the aroma of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
